Who we are

Silvertouch Cabinets operates this website and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We design, build and install custom cabinetry from our shop in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to answer your enquiry, quote your project, and keep the website working well. We do not buy personal information from data brokers and we do not sell yours.

• Information you give us. When you submit the contact or quote form: your name, email address, phone number, the project details you describe (such as room, scope, timeline and budget range), and anything else you choose to include in your message.
• Information you give us by phone or email. If you call the number on this site or reply to us by email, we keep a record of what was discussed so we can follow up.
• Information collected automatically. When you browse the site: your IP address (truncated where analytics allows), browser and device type, approximate region, the pages you view, the site or search that referred you, and the time and length of your visit.
• Advertising measurement. If you arrive from one of our Google Ads campaigns, or call us from a tagged page, our advertising tag records that the visit or call happened so we can measure which ads work. We receive this as a count, not as a profile about you.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Small files stored by your browser. See the cookies section below.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use the information above to respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote, to arrange site visits, measurements and installation, to provide and improve the website, to measure our advertising, to keep the site secure and detect abuse, and to comply with our legal and tax obligations.

Under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act and Canada's PIPEDA, we collect, use and disclose personal information only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, and we rely on your consent, which you give by sending us an enquiry and which you can withdraw at any time. Where a privacy law that requires a separate legal basis applies to you (for example the UK or EU GDPR), we rely on: your consent for non-essential cookies and any marketing message; our legitimate interest in running and securing our website and in replying to enquiries; the steps necessary to enter into a contract when you ask us for a quote; and our legal obligations for record-keeping.

We do not use your information to make decisions about you by automated means alone, and we do not profile you for automated decision-making.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run this website and our business, each of which is limited to processing it on our instructions:

• Craftify AI, our website hosting provider, which stores and serves the site.
• Formspree, our form provider, which delivers your enquiry to our inbox.
• Google LLC, for website analytics and for measuring our advertising.
• Contentsquare (Hotjar), which reports how pages are used in aggregate so we can improve them.
• Our email provider, which carries our reply to you.
• Trades and suppliers involved in your project, and only the details they need to complete it (for example a delivery address or a site contact number).
• Professional advisers, and government or law-enforcement bodies where we are legally required to disclose information.

Where your information is processed

Some of our service providers process information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. While information is outside Canada it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country. Where information is transferred out of a region with transfer restrictions (such as the UK or the EEA), we rely on our providers' approved safeguards, typically the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, and we take reasonable steps to confirm the information receives comparable protection.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and are always set. Analytics and advertising cookies help us understand which pages are useful and which ads bring us work; they are set only where permitted and, where consent is required, only after you give it.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google's browser add-on, and adjust the ads you see through Google's own ad settings.

The contact page embeds a Google Map. Loading that map sets cookies controlled by Google, not by us.

Our site respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends one.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for 24 months from our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Records relating to a completed project, including quotes, drawings and invoices, are kept for as long as we may need them for warranty, tax or legal reasons, and then deleted. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form according to our analytics provider's retention setting.

Your rights and choices

Whatever your location, you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. You can also ask us to stop sending you messages at any time, and you can withdraw your consent to our use of your information at any time.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, for example to data portability, to object to processing, to appeal a refused request, or to be free from discrimination for exercising a privacy right. We honour all of these regardless of where you live.

To exercise any right, email sales@silvertouchcabinets.com or call (604) 299-7744. We will respond within the time your local law allows, and within 30 days in every case. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will only ask for what is necessary to do so.

If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your own local privacy regulator.

Children

This website is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and we limit access to enquiry details to the people who need them to reply to you and to run your project. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant regulator, as required by law, if a breach affects your information.

Links to other sites

Our site links to other websites, including our Google, Houzz, BBB and social media profiles, and embeds a Google Map. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. Read their policies before giving them your information.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will make that clear on this page.
